Jonathan I. Silverberg, MD, PhD, MPH, is a professor of dermatology at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Washington, DC. He is the Director of Clinical Research and Contact Dermatitis. Dr. Silverberg’s area of clinical subspecialty is inflammatory skin disease, particularly atopic and contact dermatitis. He has extensive experience in the advanced management of atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, hand eczema, chronic itch, psoriasis, hidradenitis, and many other chronic inflammatory skin disorders. He is also a national expert in allergy patch testing, phototesting, and photopatch testing.

Dr. Silverberg’s research interests include the epidemiology of chronic and infectious diseases. He has published extensively on the epidemiology of chronic inflammatory skin diseases such as eczema, psoriasis, and autoimmune blistering disorders, as well infections such as COVID-19, measles, shingles, cellulitis, and other skin and serious infections. Dr. Silverberg also has made major contributions to health services research, patient-reported outcome development, understanding comorbidities and the burden of itch and inflammatory skin disease, advancing evidence-based dermatology, drug development, and clinical trial design. His publications include more than 1,000 peer-reviewed articles, abstracts, and book chapters. He is also the author of the Clinical Management of Atopic Dermatitis handbook (2nd edition published in 2022).

Prince Adotama, MD, FAAD, is a board-certified dermatologist. He is an assistant professor at the Ronald O. Perelman Department of Dermatology at New York University (NYU) Grossman School of Medicine. His clinical interests include skin disorders that disproportionately impact patients of color, particularly scarring alopecia, and autoimmune blistering disorders. He is a co-founder of the Skin of Color Section at NYU, which offers personalized, evidence-based treatment for conditions affecting people with black and brown skin. Dr. Adotama has written multiple peer-reviewed medical publications, engaged in clinical trials, contributed to dermatologic textbooks, and has given presentations around the world. He sits on various advisory boards and actively participates in service committees. Dr. Adotama always aims to deliver high-quality, patient-centered, culturally competent care to all of his patients.

Professor Thomas Bieber, MD, PhD, Prof. h.c ., is Professor and Chair in the Department of Dermatology and Allergy at the University of Bonn, Germany. He is Project Leader of the Christine Kühne-Center for Allergy Research and Education. He is honorary Professor of Dermatology at the Third Military Medical University of Chongqing, China. Prof. Bieber received his medical and biology degrees from the University of Louis Pasteur, Strasbourg, France, and holds a master’s degree in drug regulatory affairs. His expertise includes translational and precision medicine approaches for skin diseases, immunobiology of dendritic cells in atopic dermatitis, and tolerance mechanisms. He has authored over 600 publications, including over 100 book chapters, and has authored or co-authored several books on atopic dermatitis and precision medicine. Prof. Bieber was also Chief Editor of Allergy, the official journal of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, and a member of the German National Academy of Sciences. He has received numerous awards and honors, including the Heisenberg Fellowship from the German Research Council, the Karl-Hansen-Award from the German Society of Allergy, and the Gold Medal of the Foundation for Allergy Research in Europe. Prof. Bieber has also been invited to deliver several prestigious lectureships, including the Robert Cooke Memorial Lectureship by the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (USA), the Karl Herxheimer Memorial Lectureship from the University of Frankfurt (Germany), and the Otto Braun-Falco Memorial Lectureship from the University of Munich (Germany).

Anthony J. Mancini, MD, FAAD, FAAP, is Professor of Pediatrics and Dermatology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and Head of the Division of Pediatric Dermatology at the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, where he also serves as Associate Program Director for the Pediatric Dermatology Fellowship Training program. He is a fellow of both the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). Dr. Mancini’s clinical and research interests include infantile hemangiomas, atopic dermatitis, and pediatric education. He has published over 260 peer-reviewed articles, abstracts, books, and book chapters. He is co-author of Hurwitz Clinical Pediatric Dermatology (3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th editions); co-editor of the AAP publication, Pediatric Dermatology: A Quick Reference Guide (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th editions); and Pediatric Section Editor of Dermatology (1st, 2nd, and 3rd editions). Dr. Mancini is Past President of the Society for Pediatric Dermatology, where he also served 10 years as Secretary-Treasurer, and past Program Chair of the World Congress of Pediatric Dermatology.

Susan C. Taylor, MD

Susan C. Taylor, MD, is the Bernett Johnson Endowed Professor of Dermatology in the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. In addition, she is Emeritus Professor in the Department of Dermatology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, NY. She received her medical degree from Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA, and is a diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Dermatology.  

Dr. Taylor’s clinical and research focus includes pigmentary disorders, acne, and alopecia. Her work has focused on advancing clinical knowledge and addressing gaps in central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia. She also serves as Principal Investigator for phase 2 through phase 4 clinical research trials. Dr. Taylor has over 100 original publications as well as 5 books, including Taylor and Kelly’s Dermatology for Skin of Color. She has given more than 100 lectures both nationally and internationally. 

Before joining Penn, Dr. Taylor was in private practice at Society Hill Dermatology from 1989 until 2016. In 2020 she served as Past Vice President of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) and is currently the incoming AAD President-Elect. Dr. Taylor was the recipient of the AAD’s 2022 Inaugural John Kenney Jr. Lifetime Achievement Award and Lectureship and the 2022 Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching from the Perelman School of Medicine. 

Dr. Taylor is a fellow of the AAD and a member of the American Dermatological Association, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the Noah Worcester Dermatological Society, the Skin of Color Society, the Women’s Dermatologic Society, the Pennsylvania Medical Society, and the Philadelphia Dermatological Society. She serves on the editorial boards of Archives in Dermatological Research, Cutis, and Practical Dermatology and is a peer reviewer for several other journals, including Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, British Journal of Dermatology, JAMA Dermatology, and Journal of Drugs in Dermatology.  

Prof. Dr. med. Diamant Thaçi

Prof. Dr. med. Diamant Thaçi, graduated in 1989 with a medical degree and went on to specialize in dermatology and venereology in 1995 at the Department of Dermatology and Venerology at Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany. Dr. Thaçi held the roles of Senior Consulting Specialist in Dermatology, Director of Clinical Research, and Head of the Photodermatology Division from 1997 to 2011. In 2011 he was appointed Associate Professor of Dermatology, Venereology and Allergology at the Goethe University in Frankfurt/Main, Germany. Since 2013 he has been a director and full university professor at the Institute and Comprehensive Center for Inflammation Medicine at the University of Lübeck, Germany. He also is Chairman of the inflammatory board at the University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein campus in Lübeck. 

Dr. Thaçi’s research experience covers immunological work in basic research, as well as all stages of clinical drug development, especially in chronic inflammatory skin diseases such as psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and hidradenitis suppurativa. Dr. Thaçi has been a recipient of the Theodor-Stern Foundation Award for excellence in clinical research. He has been involved in numerous investigator-driven trials and has acted as the main investigator on many national and international multicenter trials.
